The law firm ŠTAIDL LEŠKA ADVOKÁTI s.r.o. successfully represented the translator Pavel Dominik, who translated Oscar Wilde’s play *The Importance of Being Earnest*. He was sued by the heir to the rights to an earlier translation of the same play by Jiří Zdeněk Novák, who was the first to use a similar title (Jak je důležité míti Filipa). The court ruled in favour of the firm in this landmark case, which extended the freedom of translation to include the use of an older, established title for a play, even though it had previously been innovatively coined by another translator.
