Pavla Voříšková

Pavla Voříšková, team leader at the law firm ŠTAIDL LEŠKA ADVOKÁTI s.r.o. specialising in architecture and construction, began focusing on copyright law in architecture and construction at a time when there was virtually no literature or case law on the subject, and so she acquired her knowledge in this field primarily abroad, in Germany, the UK and the USA. To gain a better understanding of the interdisciplinary links, she also studied architecture. One of her great strengths is her ability to successfully guide the parties towards an out-of-court settlement, ensuring that the resolution of copyright issues does not hold up construction (which is already time-consuming in the Czech Republic) by dragging out a legal dispute that typically lasts for several years in such cases.

The law firm ŠTAIDL LEŠKA ADVOKÁTI s.r.o. provides comprehensive legal services both in the field of intellectual property law relating to architecture and construction – with a focus on copyright – and in the fields of contract law and construction law. It represents both clients with multi-million projects and individual architects with day-to-day matters (drafting licence agreements, contracts for work, etc.). Recently, the firm has been focusing heavily on advising on intellectual property law issues relating to the use of BIM and on preparing bespoke contractual documentation in this regard.
